Government pledges stronger civil society partnerships for national development

Deputy PM Fadillah Yusof commits to strengthening government-NGO collaboration, highlighting MCAH’s role as a bridge for inclusive policymaking.

KUALA LUMPUR: The government remains committed to strengthening partnerships with civil society organisations as part of national development efforts.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said constructive engagement with non-governmental organisations was essential for shaping inclusive and effective policies.

He said the Malaysia Chinese Assembly Hall had become a respected bridge between the community and policymakers over two decades.

“This bridging role strengthens the policy-making process,” Fadillah said at the 22nd Anniversary Celebration of MCAH and the Second Chinese Elite Dragon Award Gala Dinner.

He stated that working with NGOs providing honest feedback builds policies reflective of real community needs.

Fadillah added that MCAH’s efforts aligned with the Malaysia MADANI framework emphasising compassion, inclusion and justice.

He highlighted MCAH’s contributions across ethnic lines, benefiting Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous communities.

The government looks forward to closer collaboration with MCAH to advance unity and uplift communities nationwide.

Fadillah also congratulated recipients of the Chinese Elite Dragon Award as role models of excellence.

Awards were presented to 22 individuals including Bernama chairman Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai.

Former Transport Minister Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik received a lifetime achievement award.

Nirvana Asia Group founder Tan Sri Kong Hon Kong and pendrive inventor Datuk Pua Khein-Seng were honoured.

Paralympian Cheak Liek Hou and towerrunner Soh Wai Ching received sports awards. – Bernama
