Heavy rain triggers flash floods and waterlogging across Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur faces flash floods and waterlogging after heavy rain, disrupting traffic in areas like Jalan Loke Yew and Jalan Raja Chulan.

KUALA LUMPUR: Heavy rain from 4 pm caused flash floods and extensive waterlogging across the capital.

Surface runoff and water pooling obstructed traffic flow on numerous roads.

Stagnant water made movement difficult for road users in the affected locations.

The Kuala Lumpur City Hall Command & Control Centre reported waterlogging at Jalan Loke Yew, Jalan Changkat Thambi Dollah and Jalan Yew.

The Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department received a call regarding a flash flood incident in Jalan Raja Chulan.

Social media posts showed several other areas were inundated.

These included Desa Pandan, Taman Desa, Cheras and Jalan Changkat Thambi Dollah.
