Police arrest a man with six prior records after a woman’s body is found in a bag buried behind an unoccupied house in Negeri Sembilan.
SEREMBAN: Police have arrested a man to assist investigations into the discovery of a woman’s body inside a bag buried behind an unoccupied house.
The 41-year-old suspect was detained in Melaka yesterday afternoon and brought to the Rembau District Police Headquarters.
Negeri Sembilan deputy police chief SAC Muhammad Idzam Jaafar said the suspect is believed to have known the victim.
“We believe several other individuals may also be involved and efforts to trace them are currently underway,” he said.
Checks revealed the suspect has six previous criminal records, including drug-related offences.
A post-mortem examination is being conducted at Rembau Hospital to establish the victim’s identity and cause of death.
The body was found in Kampung Batu 4, Pedas, yesterday.
Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said the body is believed to be that of a woman reported missing in Ampang, Selangor, since 8 December.
A missing person report was lodged at the Ampang Police Station on Monday.
Police then inspected a house along Jalan Pedas–Linggi, where evidence of criminal activity was detected. – Bernama
