Three suspected IEDs found after blast in Nilai

Police discover three suspected explosive devices and a suspect vehicle after a blast in a Nilai shoplot area, with an investigation now underway.

NILAI: Police have found three objects suspected to be improvised explosive devices following a blast at Desa Palma here this morning.

Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said authorities were alerted via the emergency services system after members of the public reported a blast and scattered nails in a shoplot area.

Witnesses reported the blast was believed to have originated from a car.

A police team dispatched to the scene discovered the three suspected IEDs at a nearby premises.

Police later located a suspected vehicle about 250 metres from the blast site.

An inspection uncovered several devices, including one believed to be the source of the explosion.

Alzafny said police are currently tracking down the suspect involved.

He urged the public not to speculate and to come forward with any information.

The case is being investigated under Section 4 of the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act 1958 and Section 435 of the Penal Code.
