Home ministry opens special window for 2025 foreign worker quotas

The Home Ministry opens a special application period for 2025 foreign worker quotas from January 19, 2026, to March 31, 2026, covering all approved sectors.

PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) will open a special period to receive applications for the 2025 foreign worker employment quota.

The window will run from January 19, 2026, to March 31, 2026.

The ministry stated that existing quota applications are still being accepted until the earlier deadline of December 31, 2025.

This special period involves applications for all government-approved sectors and sub-sectors as of October 1, 2025.

It also includes applications for the service sector under the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN), which were previously closed.

All applications received during this period will be discussed with the relevant supervising ministry for consideration.

The applications remain subject to other standard conditions for employing foreign workers.

KDN reminded employers to submit applications directly without using agents or third parties.

Submissions must be made at the One-Stop Foreign Worker Management Centre in KDN.

To facilitate the process, appointments must be made in advance via the system on KDN’s official website starting January 16, 2026.

The ministry hopes this facility will help employers submit applications in an orderly and planned manner.

It stated this step aligns with the MADANI Government’s commitment to industry needs and improving service delivery efficiency.
