Russian strikes wound four in Odesa, including three children

Russian drone attacks on Odesa wound four people, including three children, as Ukraine denies targeting a Putin residence and calls the claim a fabrication.

ODESA: Russian drone strikes wounded four people in the southern Ukrainian port city of Odesa on Wednesday.

The region’s military administration reported the attacks targeted residential areas, logistical hubs, and energy infrastructure.

Two children, aged eight and 14, were wounded in the assault.

A seven-month-old baby was also injured, according to a separate statement from regional head Sergiy Lysak.

A 42-year-old man was wounded and is now in serious condition.

The strikes followed Ukraine’s denial of launching a drone attack on a residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Kyiv accused Moscow of spreading falsehoods to manipulate negotiations on ending the war.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called Russia’s claim a “complete fabrication”.

Zelensky said he would meet with allied leaders in France on January 6 to renew peace efforts.

The Kremlin labelled the alleged drone incident a “terrorist act” and a “personal attack against Putin”.

Russian officials stated they could not provide evidence as the drones were “all shot down”.

US President Donald Trump said Sunday a deal to end the invasion was closer than ever.

He reported no apparent breakthrough on the contentious issue of territory after new talks.
