RM900 million investment to create over 200 high-skilled jobs in Johor

A RM900 million investment in Johor by a Chinese high-tech firm is set to create over 200 high-skilled jobs and includes a strategic partnership with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.

JOHOR BAHRU: A RM900 million investment by a Chinese high-tech firm is projected to generate over 200 high-skilled engineering and technology jobs in Johor.

The investment by Jiangsu Longda Superalloy Co Ltd, through its subsidiary Singda Superalloy (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, was announced by Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi.

He said the Shanghai-based company plays a vital role in the global supply chain for aerospace, energy and heavy engineering sectors.

The initiative includes a strategic collaboration with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) for training, talent development and at least 50 graduate job opportunities with exposure in Malaysia and China.

Onn Hafiz said the effort aims to ensure Johoreans become key contributors in future industries, not just participants in the workforce.

Discussions were also held to form an industrial supply chain cluster with strategic ecosystem partners.

This is expected to generate broader economic spillover effects for local companies, SMEs and service providers in Johor.

The initiative will enhance the state’s position as a competitive high-technology industrial hub.

Onn Hafiz expressed confidence it would serve as a catalyst for quality investments and long-term economic growth.
