KUALA LUMPUR: Seven foreigners were among 10 men arrested for allegedly being involved in a fight at an entertainment centre in Jalan Tun Razak, here, early today.
Kuala Lumpur police CID chief, SAC Rusdi Mohd Isa said the incident at about 2am was believed to have occurred due to a misunderstanding between a group of locals and foreigners from Europe after two individuals from the respective groups accidentally knocked into each other at the entertainment centre.
The incident triggered a commotion and the fighting continued outside the entertainment centre.
"Two locals who had licensed firearms fired into the air to break up the fight," he said when met by reporters at a crime prevention programme and the launch of Kuala Lumpur police's Volunteer Smartphone Patrol (VSP) initiative at Sri Sarawak Flats, here, today.
A police team arrived at the scene and arrested all the men, including two who were wounded in the fight.
On another development, Rusdi said police were looking for some individuals to assist in the investigation after a man was found murdered in an apartment unit in Bandar Sri Permaisuri, Cheras, here, on Monday.
He said police had also taken statements from the victim's neighbours as well as studying the closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera recording.
"It has come to light that the house was visited by some individuals. We are tracing them to help in the investigation," he said.
According to media reports, the body of the 32-year-old man was found lying face down with his hands bound and his whole body swollen.
