Naked man's body found in canal in Kampung Lebuh Banting

TASEK GELUGOR: The naked body of a man was found at a canal in Kampung Lebuh Banting, Tasek Gelugor, today.

North Seberang Prai district police chief ACP Rahman Ibrahim said the body was discovered about 11.30am by the public.

He said police believed the body to have been there for around three days and suspected the man had fallen into the canal.

He said there were no injury marks nor any signs of strangulation on the body when examined at the scene.

"We are still trying to establish his identity," he said in a press conference adding no identification documents were found.

The body was taken to the Kepala Batas Hospital for a post-mortem to determine the cause of death.
