Successful working visit to China for Ismail Sabri
HONG KONG: The nine-day working visit to China for Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob to promote halal products far exceeded its target when requests were made to have Agrobazaar Malaysia established in six cities in the country.
Ismail Sabri said the six cities were Xi'an, Suining, Chengdu, Xiamen, Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
"From the discussions held with Malaysian and Chinese entrepreneurs in the cities I visited during this trip, the people in China were very interested in Agrobazaar Malaysia though the visit was to promote halal products.
"Following this visit, officers from the Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Ministry will conduct follow-up discussions on the matter.
The Agrobazaar Malaysia will possibly be opened in the six cities through joint ventures with Malaysian entrepreneurs with businesses in these cities.
"Apart from Agrobazaar Malaysia, I also received requests for Malaysian durians to be exported to China.
The Ministry will ensure the supply of durians from Malaysia is consistent for the vast Chinese market which has big potential," he said. – Bernama
