PETALING JAYA: Selangor Mentri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali challenged Umno for allegedly harassing his family as his son and wife were called for questioning by the police today over the Bersih 4 rally.
Azmin, who is also PKR deputy president, accompanied son Basheer, 15, and wife Shamsidar Taharin to the Dang Wangi district police headquarters, issued a challenge to Umno and to take him on directly instead.
"I ask Umno not to disturb my family and my son. They should face me directly and not use my son. I challenge Umno to face me," he told reporters at Dang Wangi Police headquarters today.

He added that there were more than 500,000 people gathered at Dataran Merdeka and why did they only target his son and his wife.
"We will continue to fight," Azmin said.
Azmin had later tweeted a picture of Basheer being interrogated by a police officer, identified as Inspector Hasrul at the Dang Wangi police headquarters.
"Basheer disoal siasat oleh Insp Hasrul di IPD Dang Wangi kerana menghadiri perhimpunan aman 500,000 rakyat Malaysia," he said via his Twitter handle @AzminAli.
Basheer was previously summoned by police to give his statement on November 9, but it was postponed after Azmin said his son would have to complete his examinations first before meeting the cops.
The Bersih 4 rally was held at the end of August in Kuala Lumpur. Children are forbidden from joining such rallies.
