12 'muscle cars' sold for RM11m

JOHOR BARU: Twelve "muscle cars" were sold for RM11 million after about 200 people made bids for the vehicles at the "District 23" car exhibition and sales centre, here, last night.
Executive director of 23 Motors Sdn Bhd, Datuk Kaathir Mustaffa said the lowest bid was RM290,000 for a Chevrolet Camaro, while the highest RM1.15 million for a McLaren car.
"Intense competition took place among 200 bidders including from Kuala Lumpur, Pahang and Penang. Bidding started at RM100,000 for cars worth RM500,000," he told reporters here today.
Earlier, Member of Parliament for Johor Baru Tan Sri Shahrir Abdul Samad opened the exhibition and sales centre before the bidding was held from 8pm to 12am last night witnessed by 2,000 car enthusiasts. — Bernama
