Wintoni seeks time extension to appoint sponsor

PETALING JAYA: Wintoni Group Bhd, which aims to issue its annual report to shareholders on Sept 8, 2016, has sought Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd’s approval to grant a further one month extension up to Aug 25, 2016 for the company to appoint a sponsor.
“The company is currently in discussion with potential sponsors who have indicated that they may consider taking the role of sponsor for Wintoni for the purpose of its regularisation plan subject to, amongst others, Wintoni submitting its annual report for FY15 to Bursa Securities,” Wintoni said in a stock exchange filing yesterday.
Wintoni is required to furnish its annual reports that include annual audited financial statements together with the auditors’ and directors’ reports for the financial year ended Dec 31, 2015 (AFS 2015) to Bursa Securities for public release within a period not exceeding four months from April 30, 2016.
“The issuance of the annual report has been delayed as the AFS 2015 of the company has not been completed. This is mainly due to the previous break-ins that occurred at the company’s premises, which resulted in loss of equipment and documents,” explained Wintoni.
The company has been informed by the auditors that the draft audited financial statements has been reviewed and require additional time prior to signing off on the audited financial statements due to their internal compliance procedures.
The company expects the auditors to sign off on the draft audited financial statements by Aug 19, 2016.
