KUALA LUMPUR: Five secondary school students are being investigated for allegedly recording a video underneath the skirt of a female teacher from a school at the city centre here.
Dang Wangi district police chief ACP Sukri Kaman said the act came to the attention of the school's discipline teacher after students started sharing the video among themselves.
On Wednesday, two days after the recording was made, the discipline teacher informed the 36-year-old victim that a seven-seconds video was going viral among students.
"The incident took place on Jan 18 at about 8.30am where a group of Form 3 students allegedly recorded the video using a handphone when the English teacher was helping students with classroom activities," Sukri said in a statement today.
He said after an interrogation with the school's discipline department, police identified five form three students suspected to be involved in the incident.
"So far, two form three students, identified as witnesses came forward to give their statements recorded by the police,"he said.
The mobile phone was said to be on recording mode on the ground and the teacher innocously passed it back to the boys not knowing she was being recorded.
Sukri further revealed that the victim lodged a police report on Friday and the case is being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code for making gestures intended to insult the modesty of other person and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955.
