KUALA LUMPUR: Inspector General of Police Tan Seri Khalid Abu Bakar said that two Malaysians who were rescued by Philippines' security forces after being kidnapped will arrive in Kuala Lumpur tomorrow.
"I can confirm that both victims will be in Manila today afternoon and will be arriving in Kuala Lumpur tomorrow," he said at the 210th Police Day celebrations at the Police Training Centre (Pulapol) today.
He said that as soon as they arrive, they will be taken in to help with investigations.
He however did not wish to elaborate on the incident.
It is learnt that the two Malaysian sailors who were held captive for eight months by Muslim militants were rescued Thursday in the southern Philippines, military officials said.
Tayudin Anjut, 45, and Abdurahim Bin Sumas, 62, were among five Malaysian tugboat crewmen kidnapped in July off Malaysia's Sabah state near the southern Philippines.
The two men were abandoned without a fight by their captors.
However the status of the three other men is still unknown.
