Stand taller, walk further

HIGH heels and comfort don’t go together in a sentence, but Bata is making a bold claim of stringing both together in a new collection named Insolia.
Leveraging on the patented technology of Insolia – owned by American company HBN – Bata’s new line of footwear can be worn three times longer than regular heels. As wearing regular high heels puts too much pressure on the ball of the foot, and causes swelling and deformation in the long run, the Insolia inner shoe pad counters this by distributing the weight between the heel (50%) and toes (50%).
“The result of our efforts is a comfortable shoe that you can wear up to three times longer than a normal high-heeled shoe. Thanks to better posture, women are not only stable, but also look three cm taller on average,” said Thomas Archer Bata, chief marketing officer and great grandson of Bata’s founder.
Apart from comfort, Bata alleges that Insolia technology has a direct positive influence on the health of its wearer. Chiropodists have said that the new technology reduces the pressure on the front of the foot by almost 30%, hence relieving the toes and arches, as well as knees and calves.
Not to mention, walking is made less exhausting and sweaty; the heart rate decreases while oxygen consumption is cut back by 25% on average. Insolia also promotes a straighter spine, thus significantly better stability, and a taller and healthier impression.
Lastly, as Insolia lies in the internal part of the shoe pad, the technology does not have any impact on the exterior, hence no compromises are made on the shoe design. In Malaysia, the new Insolia collection carries three designs which are priced from RM129 in selected stores. An additional four new styles and colours will arrive in May.
