Self-proclaimed Sultan has no right to Melaka throne: Idris

MELAKA (Jan 5, 2014): Raja Noor Jan Shah Raja Tuah has no right to claim to be the sultan of Melaka because the administration of Melaka is enshrined in the Federal Constitution and the laws of Malaysia, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron.
"We apply the Federal Constitution, which states that Melaka is a state administered and managed by a representative of the federation, that is a head of state - Yang Dipertua Negeri - appointed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
"I advise him (Raja Noor Jan Shah) to understand the reality," he told reporters after opening a discourse at the Al-Azim Mosque, here.
Raja Noor Jan Shah had claimed to be a descendant of the Sultan of Melaka and had displayed so-called evidence to support his claim on his blog. – Bernama
