KUALA LUMPUR: Children from two orphanages were given a treat when a law firm invited them to its annual movie day fun on Saturday.
Lee Hishammuddin Allen and Gledhill (LHAG) treated some 100 children from the Ti-Ratana Welfare Society and Rumah Aman to a special screening of the Spider-Man: Homecoming movie at Nu Sentral here.
Lawyer S. Saravana Kumar said they were looking to do something different this year.
"Every year we usually have a movie day for all our staff and partners, but this year, we wanted to do something good.
"We decided to give a movie treat to the children from these orphanages," he said.
Deputy Education Minister Datuk P. Kamalanathan, who was guest-of-honour, said: "What the law firm has done is very special for these children. For many of them, this would be the first time they go to a cinema theatre.
"In years to come when they recall this experience, they will have fond memories of today."
Kamalanathan added the Education Ministry is keen to work with law firms which are willing to help and organise programmes for the underprivileged children.
Also present was LHAG partner Datuk Nithin Nadkarni.
