Sime Darby announces leadership line-up for plantation, property
KUALA LUMPUR: Sime Darby Bhd today announced the new boards and senior leadership for Sime Darby Plantation Bhd and Sime Darby Property Bhd.
“The new members of the two boards and the senior management have the experience and expertise, to spearhead the businesses in these challenging times. We are confident they will grow the companies into stronger entities to generate sustainable returns for all stakeholders,” current Sime Darby chairman Tan Sri Abdul Ghani Othman said in a statement.
The announcement of an additional board member for both companies will be made soon, he added.
The boards of Sime Darby Plantation and Sime Darby Property will comprise 11 directors upon listing, majority of whom shall be independent non-executive directors.
Sime Darby Plantation’s new board and key management line-up are headed by Tan Sri Abdul Ghani Othman (chairman) and Tan Sri Mohd Bakke Salleh (executive deputy chairman & managing director).
Other board members include Datuk Mohamad Nasir Ab Latif, Datuk Mohd Nizam Zainordin, Zainal Abidin Jamal, Tan Sri Datuk Dr Yusof Basiran, Datuk Zaiton Mohd Hassan, Muhammad Lutfi, Datuk Che Abdullah @ Rashidi Che Omar and Tan Ting Min.
Sime Darby Property's new board and key management line-up are headed by Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar (chairman), Datuk Seri Amrin Awaluddin (managing director) and Datuk Tong Poh Keow (executive director & CFO).
Other board members are Datuk Rohana Mahmood, Tengku Datuk Seri Ahmad Shah Alhaj ibni Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Alhaj, Datuk Johan Ariffin, Datuk Jaganath Derek Steven Sabapathy, Datuk Dr Mohd Daud Bakar, Datuk Seri Ahmad Johan Mohammad Raslan and Datin Nor Azah Mohamed Razali.
The group's share price was up six sen as at 3.48pm, with some 2.89 million share changing hands. It has a market capitalisation of RM62.1 billion.
