Curi minuman, mi segera, pembantu jualan dipenjara, denda

KUALA LUMPUR: Seorang pembantu jualan dipenjara tiga hari dan didenda RM300 oleh Mahkamah Majistret di sini hari ini kerana mencuri empat kotak minuman Extra Joss dan dua peket mi segera Maggie perisa kari di sebuah kantin, semalam.

Majistret Atiqah Mohamed @ Mohamad Saim menjatuhkan hukuman itu terhadap Ady Putra Mustaen, 28, selepas mengaku bersalah mencuri barang berkenaan bernilai anggaran RM140 di kantin WCT Sdn Bhd Construction Store di Dang Wangi pada 8 malam, 14 April.

Dia didakwa mengikut Seksyen 380 Kanun Keseksaan yang membawa hukuman penjara maksimum 10 tahun dan denda serta bagi kesalahan kedua boleh dikenakan hukuman penjara dan denda atau sebat.

Mahkamah turut memerintahkan penjual tudung dan telekung itu menjalani hukuman penjara bermula hari ini dan akan dipenjara sembilan hari jika gagal membayar denda.

Timbalan Pendakwa Raya (TPR) Nadia Eleena Jamaluddin Akbal memohon hukuman setimpal sebagai pengajaran, namun Ady Putra yang tidak diwakili peguam merayu denda minimum atas alasan mempunyai tanggungan keluarga termasuk menjaga ibu yang sakit.

Dalam kes berasingan, majistret sama menjatuhkan hukuman denda RM900 atau penjara dua minggu terhadap Nazirul Amshar Abdul Razak, 36, yang juga penganggur, setelah gagal memberikan penjelasan bagaimana wang RM18,150 berada dalam akaun CIMB Bank miliknya.

Wang itu disyaki telah dicuri atau diperoleh daripada seorang wanita di Jalan Mega Mendung, Brickfields pada 23 Mac 2021.

Lelaki itu dituduh mengikut Subseksyen 29 (1) Akta Kesalahan-Kesalahan Kecil 1955 yang berdepan hukuman denda tidak lebih RM1,000 atau penjara maksmimum setahun atau kedua-duanya.

Pendakwaan dikendalikan TPR sama manakala tertuduh diwakili peguam CH Low.
