Jenayah komersial: Sarawak rekod kerugian lebih RM7.8 juta pada Januari

SIBU: Kes jenayah komersial di Sarawak pada masa ini membimbangkan dengan 2,958 kes direkodkan pada 2023 berbanding 2,461 kes pada 2022, kata Pesuruhjaya Polis Sarawak Datuk Mancha Ata (gambar).

Beliau berkata sebanyak RM117.06 juta kerugian direkodkan akibat jenayah terbabit pada 2023 manakala RM65.884 juta pada 2022, iaitu peningkatan sebanyak RM51.17 juta.

Menurut Mancha pada Januari tahun ini sebanyak 240 kes jenayah komersial dengan kerugian berjumlah RM7.81 juta direkodkan.

“Bagi daerah Sibu, sebanyak 615 kes jenayah komersial dicatatkan pada 2023 berbanding 444 bagi tempoh yang sama pada 2022, iaitu peningkatan sebanyak 171 kes, masing-masing dengan kerugian sebanyak RM16,032,957.72 dan RM7,740,531.39,” katanya.

Berucap pada Program Kepolisan Komuniti Bersama Pesuruhjaya Polis Sarawak di sini hari ini, beliau mengingatkan masyarakat lebih peka supaya tidak menjadi mangsa jenayah komersial.

Pihak Polis Diraja Malaysia melalui Jabatan Siasatan Jenayah Komersil (JSJK) Sarawak, katanya dipertanggungjawab untuk menyiasat kes-kes jenayah komersial seperti penipuan, pecah amanah, pemalsuan, pemberi pinjam wang tanpa lesen, wang palsu dan sebagainya.

Beliau meminta orang ramai menghubungi Pusat Respons Scam Kebangsaan (NSRC) untuk membuat semakan dan pengesahan maklumat berkenaan penipuan siber, memuat turun aplikasi “Whoscall” serta menyemak akaun bank menggunakan aplikasi Check Scammers CCID sebelum membuat sebarang transaksi bagi mengelak ditipu. –Bernama
