Lebih RM18 juta kompaun dikeluar cegah demam denggi

KUALA LUMPUR: Sejumlah 36,426 kompaun bernilai lebih RM18 juta telah dikeluarkan sepanjang tahun lepas hasil tindakan penguatkuasaan di bawah Akta Pemusnahan Serangga Pembawa Penyakit (APSPP) 1975 bagi pencegahan dan kawalan penyakit demam denggi.

Ketua Pengarah Kesihatan Datuk Dr Muhammad Radzi Abu Hassan berkata dalam tempoh yang sama, sebanyak 4,264 kes juga telah didaftarkan untuk tindakan mahkamah dengan 911 kes telah disabitkan kesalahan dengan jumlah denda RM2,349,950.

“Untuk tempoh Disember sahaja, sejumlah 2,470 kompaun bernilai RM1.2 juta dikeluarkan dengan purata RM500 setiap kompaun. Sejumlah 426 kes juga didaftar untuk tindakan mahkamah dan 48 kes telah disabitkan kesalahan di mahkamah dengan jumlah denda RM188,550,” katanya dalam kenyataan di sini hari ini.

Sementara itu, katanya melalui penguatkuasaan Peraturan-Peraturan Kawalan Hasil Tembakau (PPKHT) 2004, sejumlah 112,455 notis kesalahan telah dikeluarkan sepanjang tahun lepas hasil lawatan ke 246,982 premis.

Sebanyak 63,039 kompaun telah ditawarkan dengan nilai tawaran lebih RM16 juta, katanya.

Dr Muhammad Radzi berkata melalui tindakan penguatkuasaan Akta Makanan 1983 pula, sebanyak 104,925 premis makanan telah diperiksa dengan 2,242 premis daripadanya diperintah tutup sementara.

“Tindakan penutupan sementara premis makanan yang dikuatkuasakan oleh Kementerian Kesihatan (KKM) di bawah Seksyen 11, Akta Makanan 1983 sebagai langkah menjamin kebersihan premis serta makanan yang dihidangkan,” katanya.

Beliau berkata kementerian sentiasa berusaha meningkatkan mutu perkhidmatan untuk kesejahteraan rakyat di negara ini termasuk mengambil tindakan penguatkuasaan undang-undang kesihatan demi kepentingan kesihatan awam. –Bernama
