Penganggur mengaku tidak salah dua pertuduhan menipu

BUTTERWORTH: Seorang penganggur mengaku tidak bersalah di Mahkamah Sesyen di sini hari ini atas dua pertuduhan menipu seorang lelaki dengan meminta wang RM8,000, enam tahun lepas.

Amran Peaid (gambar), 56, membuat pengakuan itu selepas pertuduhan dibacakan di hadapan Hakim Zulhazmi Abdullah.

Dia didakwa menipu seorang lelaki berusia 49 tahun dengan mengaku kononnya akan menggunakan khidmat peguam yang dapat menyelesaikan pertuduhan mahkamah membabitkan kes dadah seorang lelaki lain berusia 50 tahun.

Dia juga didakwa dengan sengaja mendorong lelaki berkenaan memindahkan wang RM3,000 dan RM5,000 ke dalam akaun bank seorang wanita, yang juga pihak ketiga.

Kesalahan berkenaan didakwa dilakukan di sebuah bank di George Town pada 20 dan 30 Sept 2018, mengikut Seksyen 417 Kanun Keseksaan yang memperuntukkan hukuman penjara sehingga lima tahun atau denda atau kedua-duanya, jika sabit kesalahan.

Timbalan Pendakwa Raya Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia (SPRM) Rehab Abdul Shukur menawarkan ikat jamin RM5,000 bagi setiap pertuduhan berserta syarat tambahan menyerahkan dokumen perjalanan serta melaporkan diri ke pejabat SPRM terdekat setiap bulan.

Peguam K. Mahendran merayu jaminan minimum diberikan memandangkan tertuduh menghidap sakit jantung dan diabetes serta memiliki seorang anak berusia tujuh tahun.

Hakim Zulhazmi membenarkan Amran diikat jamin RM5,000 dengan seorang penjamin bagi setiap pertuduhan berserta syarat tambahan perlu menyerahkan pasport kepada mahkamah dan melapor diri di pejabat SPRM sebulan sekali.

Mahkamah menetapkan 25 Mac depan untuk sebutan semula kes bagi serahan dokumen. –Bernama
