SPRM mulakan siasatan penggunaan wang RM700 juta

KUALA LUMPUR: Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia (SPRM) telah memulakan siasatan awal berhubung dakwaan penyalahgunaan dana RM700 juta oleh dua kerajaan terdahulu, bagi tujuan promosi dan publisiti agenda kerajaan bagi tempoh 2020 hingga 2022.

Sumber memaklumkan SPRM telah ke Kementerian Kewangan (MOF) dan Jabatan Perdana Menteri (JPM) hari ini, untuk memulakan siasatan dan mengumpulkan maklumat selain mendapatkan dokumen berkaitan.

Menurut sumber itu, siasatan dibuat berdasarkan maklumat awal seperti yang dinyatakan Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, ketika menjawab soalan Ahli Parlimen Batu P. Prabakaran pada November lepas yang meminta Perdana Menteri menyatakan jumlah keseluruhan yang dibelanjakan kerajaan untuk tujuan berkenaan.

“SPRM mengambil tindakan proaktif menjalankan siasatan sebagaimana pendedahan mengenai penggunaan wang RM700 juta, baru-baru ini.

“Ia termasuk kerja promosi dan publisiti dalam menghebahkan pencapaian kerajaan menerusi semua platform media massa termasuk media cetak, media digital serta televisyen sepanjang tahun bermula 2020 hingga kini,” menurut sumber itu.

Sumber turut memaklumkan, siasatan awal menjurus tentang bagaimana wang tersebut dibelanjakan dan adakah prosesnya mengikut tatacara yang betul.

Susulan kenyataan Anwar tersebut, Menteri Komunikasi Fahmi Fadzil turut membuat perkongsian di media sosial X baru-baru ini, bahawa rakyat berhak mengetahui bagaimana RM700 juta telah dibelanjakan.

Sementara itu, Pengarah Kanan Siasatan SPRM Datuk Seri Hishamuddin Hashim ketika dihubungi mengesahkan siasatan tersebut, tetapi enggan mendedahkan butiran lanjut. -Bernama
