Operasi Imigresen di Kota Bharu tahan 36 warga Myanmar dan tiga lelaki tempatan dipercayai tekong sindiket pengangkutan haram.

KOTA BHARU: Jabatan Imigresen menahan 36 pendatang tanpa izin warga Myanmar dan tiga lelaki tempatan dalam satu operasi di sini.

Ketua Pengarahnya Datuk Zakaria Shaaban berkata mereka yang ditahan terdiri daripada 23 lelaki, 12 wanita dan seorang kanak-kanak perempuan warga Myanmar.

Turut ditahan ialah tiga lelaki tempatan termasuk seorang yang dikenali sebagai “Mat Sero” dipercayai tekong sindiket.

Operasi itu dijalankan di sebuah kawasan tempat letak kenderaan awam selepas tiga bulan risikan.

Pasukan operasi berjaya memintas lapan kenderaan yang dipercayai digunakan untuk mengangkut warga asing berkenaan.

“Kumpulan transporter bertindak agresif dan cuba melarikan diri dengan memecut laju serta melanggar beberapa kenderaan lain,” katanya.

Beberapa warga asing sempat bersembunyi di dalam semak berhampiran tetapi berjaya ditemui.

Operasi khas itu melibatkan 20 pegawai daripada Pasukan Taktikal Khas dan Bahagian Perisikan Ibu Pejabat Imigresen Putrajaya serta imigresen Kelantan.

Pasukan turut menyita tiga telefon bimbit dan lapan kenderaan pelbagai jenis untuk siasatan.

Menurut Zakaria, sindiket itu membawa masuk warga asing melalui laluan tikus di sempadan Kelantan.

Mereka kemudian diserahkan kepada transporter tempatan untuk dibawa ke lokasi tertentu di Lembah Klang.

“Sindiket ini mengenakan bayaran kira-kira RM400 hingga RM500 seorang bergantung kepada jarak perjalanan,” katanya.

Kumpulan itu dipercayai beroperasi setiap minggu dan aktif sejak enam bulan lepas.

Tiga lelaki tempatan dan seorang lelaki warga Myanmar disiasat di bawah Seksyen 26A Akta Antipemerdagangan Orang dan Antipenyeludupan Migran 2007.

Manakala 35 warga Myanmar lain disiasat mengikut Seksyen 6(1)(c) Akta Imigresen 1959/63.
