KUALA LUMPUR: NetApp Malaysia Sdn Bhd has appointed Moti Uttam as country manager for Malaysia, a leadership move that comes as the country steps up efforts to strengthen its digital economy and build the foundations of its ‘AI Nation 2030’ ambitions.

The company said in a statement that the appointment reflects its commitment to supporting Malaysian enterprises as they modernise their data environments and prepare for wider AI adoption.

Moti will lead NetApp’s business and team in Malaysia, with a focus on deepening customer and partner relationships, winning new business, expanding into key verticals and driving growth across the company’s data management and AI solutions portfolio.

“I am honoured to take on this mantle at such a pivotal moment for Malaysia. The nation’s bold ambitions are propelling us towards an AI-driven economy, and data is at the heart of that transformation,” said Moti.

He brings over 25 years of experience in the technology sector, having held leadership roles at companies including Hitachi Vantara and Dell EMC, where he was involved in growth, market expansion, customer success and team development.

Before joining NetApp, Moti served as Chief Technology and Operations Officer of Tao Bin Malaysia, where he helped build a cloud-centric robotic retail platform enabled by AI and IoT.

NetApp Senior Director for ASEAN Angeline Lim said that Moti’s appointment comes at an important time as Malaysia advances its digital transformation agenda and scales its national AI capabilities.

She said that his industry experience, understanding of the local market and customer-centric approach will strengthen NetApp’s ability to support enterprises seeking stronger data foundations for innovation and productivity.
