Tanah Makmur subsidiary and Maxis team up to develop KotaSAS into smart township

PETALING JAYA: KotaSAS Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tanah Makmur Bhd (TMB), and Maxis Bhd have partnered up to accelerate the development of KotaSAS into a smart township.


Maxis will provide integrated connectivity and solutions to power the township’s digital ambitions.


Envisioned by TMB as Pahang’s premier mixed development, KotaSAS will set the benchmark as Kuantan’s new Central Business District and the state’s modern administrative capital.


As it undergoes a multi-phase expansion over the next decade, the township is strategically positioned to benefit from major regional infrastructure developments. This includes serving as a key economic hub directly integrated with the East Coast Rail Link.


The KotaSAS blueprint focuses on sustainable, smart living to improve the quality of life for residents and businesses.


Reflecting this focus, Maxis will provide the essential infrastructure and deploy connectivity-enabled solutions powered by its fast, reliable and secure network, including leading the fibre rollout for over 4,000 greenfield premises and deliver comprehensive mobile coverage; implementing a range of technologies to support KotaSAS’s Smart City vision. These include e-billboards, street lighting management, solar systems, smart energy meters, traffic lights and smart poles, which will enhance energy optimisation, public safety and liveability and enabling connected and sustainable lifestyles for residents and businesses in KotaSAS through exclusive packages for Maxis fibre connectivity, home and office Wi-Fi, and solar energy solutions.
