Kerajaan negeri buat kajian sebelum semak tarif air di Perak

IPOH: Kerajaan negeri akan melakukan kajian terperinci sebelum melaksanakan sebarang ketetapan berhubung semakan kadar tarif air di Perak, kata Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad (gambar).

Beliau berkata ini kerana semakan kali terakhir tarif air di Perak dibuat 30 tahun lepas.

“Kita tiada keputusan muktamad lagi, tetapi dalam mesyuarat Exco semalam ada taklimat daripada kementerian berkaitan dasar air negara dan disebutkan akan ada semakan semula tarif air untuk seluruh Malaysia.

“Ketetapan di setiap negeri ini berbeza-beza, jadi kita akan buat kajian terlebih dahulu untuk melihat perkara tersebut,” katanya ketika ditemui selepas merasmikan Laman Perak Sejahtera@MARDI Bagan Datuk di sini hari ini.

Semalam, Menteri Sumber Asli, Alam Sekitar dan Perubahan Iklim Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad menegaskan tarif air domestik di semua negeri akan disemak awal tahun depan selepas ada negeri tidak pernah berbuat demikian dalam tempoh 40 tahun.

Beliau dalam kenyataan sama turut memaklumkan perkara itu perlu dilakukan ekoran kadar tarif air semasa tidak lagi mampu untuk menanggung kos pengoperasian.

Dalam pada itu, Saarani memberi jaminan semakan yang dilakukan itu tidak akan membebankan mana-mana pihak khususnya operator dan pengguna.

“Di pihak operator mereka memerlukan wang untuk menyelenggara dan sebagainya, manakala di pihak pengguna kita tidak mahu membebankan mereka. Jadi, kita akan cuba sedaya upaya untuk berlaku adil kepada kedua-dua pihak,” katanya. –Bernama
