Saksi: Najib keluarkan surat tiada keperluan audit 1MDB

KUALA LUMPUR: Mahkamah Tinggi di sini hari ini diberitahu bahawa bekas Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak, telah mengeluarkan surat menyatakan tiada keperluan bagi Ketua Audit Negara mengaudit 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB), pada 2009.

Penguasa Kanan Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia (SPRM) Nur Aida Arifin, 37, yang juga pegawai penyiasat kes 1MDB berkata surat itu dikeluarkan pada 22 Dis 2009.

“Kementerian Kewangan melalui Ketua Setiausaha Perbendaharaan (KSP) mencadangkan supaya 1MDB dibuat due dilligence dan diaudit oleh Jabatan Audit Negara.

“Namun, Datuk Seri Najib telah mengeluarkan surat menyatakan tiada keperluan bagi Ketua Audit Negara mengaudit 1MDB, oleh kerana 1MDB mesti diaudit oleh juruaudit profesional luar lantikan ahli lembaga pengarah. Selaras dengan arahan ini, lembaga pengarah 1MDB melantik firma audit profesional Ernst & Young untuk mengaudit penyata kewangan 1MDB,” katanya.

Saksi pendakwaan ke-49 itu berkata demikian ketika membacakan pernyataan saksinya setebal 95 muka surat, pada perbicaraan kes rasuah dan pengubahan wang haram dana RM2.3 bilion milik 1MDB yang dihadapi Najib.

Selain itu, Nur Aida memberitahu mahkamah mengenai penubuhan 1MDB yang asalnya ditubuhkan oleh kerajaan Negeri Terengganu dan dikenali sebagai Lembaga Pelaburan Terengganu atau Terengganu Investment Authority (TIA).

Saksi itu juga mendedahkan ‘kerja-kerja’ yang dilakukan ahli perniagaan dalam buruan Low Taek Jho, atau Jho Low dalam 1MDB termasuk arahannya kepada pihak atasan 1MDB untuk memindahkan US$700 juta milik 1MDB ke dalam Good Star Limited, syarikat milik Jho Low.

Jho Low membuka akaun bank Good Star pada 11 Jun 2009 dan syarikat itu menerima US$700 juta pada 30 Sept 2009.

Najib, 70, berdepan empat pertuduhan iaitu menggunakan kedudukan beliau untuk memperoleh suapan berjumlah RM2.3 bilion dana 1MDB dan 21 pertuduhan pengubahan wang haram membabitkan jumlah yang sama.
