SPRM tingkat kerjasama dengan NACC Thailand cegah rasuah di sempadan

BUKIT KAYU HITAM: Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia (SPRM) sentiasa meningkatkan kerjasama dengan Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Kebangsaan (NACC) Thailand dalam usaha mencegah jenayah rentas sempadan khususnya rasuah di pintu masuk kedua-dua negara.

Pengarah SPRM Kedah Ahmad Nizam Ismail berkata kedua-dua pihak juga yakin dengan hubungan dua hala yang baik, ia dapat mencegah kegiatan tidak bermoral itu sekali gus memastikan keselamatan di sempadan berada pada tahap optimum.

“Kerjasama ini akan memudahkan kita untuk mengurang atau menghapuskan kegiatan jenayah rentas sempadan, itu potensi yang kita lihat (daripada hubungan dua hala ini).

“Secara umumnya kita lihat ada kebarangkalian boleh berlaku rasuah (di sempadan), jadi kita nak cegah di peringkat awal sebelum ia berlaku…ia sebagai langkah pencegahan melibatkan pihak berkuasa di kedua-dua negara,“ katanya.

Beliau berkata demikian selepas program Dialog Pencegahan Jenayah Rasuah Rentas Sempadan bersama Agensi Penguatkuasaan Malaysia dan Thailand Di Kompleks Kompleks Imigresen, Kastam, Kuarantin dan Keselamatan (ICQS) di sini hari ini.

Dialog berkenaan turut disertai delegasi dari Thailand diketuai Pengarah NACC Wilayah Songkhla Ram Wasuthanapinyo.

Sementara itu, Wasuthanapinyo berharap hubungan dua hala itu dapat membantu kedua-dua negara memastikan tidak berlaku salah laku berkaitan rasuah terutama di sempadan negara.

Beliau berkata pihaknya sentiasa bersedia untuk bekerjasama sama ada dalam bentuk maklumat atau perkongsian risikan dalam usaha mencegah rasuah. –Bernama
