TPM Fadillah: Mesyuarat pengenalan perundangan karbon selepas Hari Raya

KUCHING: Satu mesyuarat koordinasi antara pelbagai kementerian serta agensi Persekutuan akan diadakan selepas Hari Raya Aidilfitri, bagi mempercepatkan pengenalan perundangan berkaitan karbon di Malaysia.

Timbalan Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof berkata perkara tersebut telah dibincangkan dalam mesyuarat Majlis Tenaga Negara sebelum ini.

Beliau yang juga Menteri Peralihan Tenaga dan Transformasi Air berkata Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, juga telah bersetuju agar undang-undang tersebut disegerakan.

“Mesyuarat itu nanti akan melihat bagaimana kita dapat mempercepatkan pengenalan undang-undang, bukan sahaja untuk tenaga boleh baharu tetapi juga mengenai Pemerangkapan, Penggunaan dan Penyimpanan Karbon (CCUS),” katanya.

Beliau berkata demikian kepada pemberita selepas menghadiri Majlis Rumah Terbuka Aidilfitri Premier Sarawak Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, yang berlangsung di Pusat Konvensyen Borneo Kuching (BCCK) di sini hari ini.

Sementara itu, Fadillah berkata buat masa ini, Sarawak merupakan negeri pertama yang telah meluluskan undang-undang berkaitan karbon di Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN) sebelum ini.

“Sarawak sudah bersedia dari segi perundangan, peraturan dan sistem cuma di peringkat Persekutuan belum ada lagi. Sebab itu kita nak panggil mesyuarat ini, supaya kita dapat selaraskan undang-undang yang dah ada di Sarawak sebagai asas untuk kita bangunkan undang-undang di Persekutuan.

“Jika boleh disegerakan maka proses CCUS ini dapat berjalan,” katanya.
