KUALA LUMPUR: Success stories often originate from humble beginnings, and alumnus of Management and Science University (MSU) Abdumanapov Zeinolla exemplifies this with his achievements as Golden Grain Trade director, while also being chairman of the National Export Association KazGrain in Kazakhstan.

Zeinolla’s journey into entrepreneurship began after his studies at MSU from 2014 to 2017, where he pursued a Master in Business Administration (MBA) under the guidance of Prof Dr Abdol Ali Khatibi and Assoc Prof Dr S.M. Ferdaus Azam. His academic journey not only equipped him with knowledge but also instilled in him the determination to explore the world of business.

Upon completion of his MBA at MSU, Zeinolla ventured into the wheat and barley export business, targeting neighbouring countries in Central Asia, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, China and Iran. His experience working in the government sector before pursuing his MBA gave him valuable insights into the challenges and complexities of conducting business with the government.

During the time he was exploring business opportunities, Zeinolla faced many challenges and further adding to the complexity were the geopolitical tensions in Central Asia, especially to the supply chain and contract negotiations with European countries.

Also, the agriculture industry’s dependency on weather conditions made each harvest season volatile due to climate change. There was also inflation and unfavourable economic conditions, which all contributed to the grain industry’s instability.

But Zeinolla overcame these difficulties and excelled in the grain industry, proving that his MBA had added to his knowledge and skills. He made a name for himself, being appointed National Export Association chairman.
