Four nations reaffirm commitment to KL Peace Accord, demining progress

Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia and US pledge full implementation of KL Peace Accord, focusing on demining without trade cooperation involvement

KUALA LUMPUR: Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia and the United States have reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring full implementation of the Kuala Lumpur Peace Accord.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim confirmed the commitment excludes any form of trade cooperation.

He said the pledge was conveyed during his conversation with US President Donald Trump, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and Thailand Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul.

“We also concurred that meaningful progress must be made on the issue of demining, without involving any form of trade cooperation,” Anwar stated in a Facebook post.

He reiterated appreciation for Trump’s personal and active commitment to resolving the border issue between the two neighbouring countries.

International media reported Monday that the Thai Armed Forces Chief suspended all agreements with Cambodia following a landmine explosion along the border.

The incident heightened tensions after clashes in July.

Four Thai soldiers were reportedly injured when a PMN-2 landmine exploded during a patrol in Sisaket province.

One soldier lost his right leg in the explosion.

The Kuala Lumpur Peace Accord was signed by Anutin and Hun Manet last month.

The signing was witnessed by Anwar and Trump on the sidelines of the 47th ASEAN Summit. – Bernama

Alfa Romeo Marks the Quadrifoglio Legacy with Exclusive Giulia and Stelvio Collezione Models

Alfa Romeo has introduced two highly exclusive creations, the Giulia Quadrifoglio Collezione and Stelvio Quadrifoglio Collezione, developed in tribute to one of the brand’s most enduring icons — the Quadrifoglio. The emblem, first painted onto Ugo Sivocci’s Alfa Romeo RL when he won the 1923 Targa Florio, became the mark of the brand’s racing machinery for decades. In 1963 it shifted from the circuit to the road with the Giulia Ti Super, and from then on it distinguished Alfa Romeo’s most powerful and exclusive road-going models. That pivotal year forms the inspiration for this new Collezione series, which has been limited to just 63 units worldwide. Two Giulia units have been earmarked for the UK, while the rest will be distributed across Europe, the Middle East, China and Japan.
