A mother shares her distress after her son came home bruised on the first day of school, prompting police and medical reports
EVERY parent sends their child to school hoping it will be a safe place while they are away from home.
For one mother, however, that hope quickly turned into worry on the very first day of school.
The mother, known online as @syzzwnyyy, shared that she was left shocked after her son returned home with visible bruises, allegedly caused by a fellow classmate.
According to her, the teacher had informed that the student involved had already been reprimanded and that an ice pack was applied to her son’s head.
Photos shared by the mother showed scratch marks on the side of the boy’s upper right thigh, while his hands appeared swollen.
Disturbed by the injuries, she requested the contact number of the other child’s mother, but said the teacher refused to provide it, explaining that she would attempt to speak to the parent the following day.
The mother also revealed that she was unable to raise the issue in the class WhatsApp group as posting privileges were disabled.
She added that her husband, overwhelmed by anger, scolded their son for not fighting back when he was bullied.
In a subsequent update, she said she met the school’s senior assistant in charge of student affairs.
However, she was not allowed to meet the headmaster, as the matter would first be recorded in a case file for investigation.
“I’m still not allowed to meet the other child’s parents; she said we have to follow procedure. I lost my temper at school earlier, and in the end, she told me to go home first and that she would call later,” she shared.
In her final update, the mother said the matter was progressing after she lodged a police report to enable a medical check-up at the hospital.
She also managed to contact the other child’s mother, who is currently in confinement after childbirth.
“I feel sorry for her because she didn’t know what her child did to mine. The medical report and police report were made for the future, in case anything else happens to my child again,” she said, hoping no bullying threats will happen to her son again.
