Sultan of Pahang and Tengku Ampuan visit a Vietnam roll stall at Temerloh Ramadan bazaar
RUNNING a food stall at a Ramadan bazaar means welcoming customers from all walks of life.
But for one woman selling Vietnam rolls at the Ramadan Bazaar Desa Semantan in Temerloh, this year’s bazaar season brought a visit she will almost certainly never forget.
The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, and the Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, were spotted making their way through the bazaar when the stall owner took her chance.
She approached the royal couple as they passed and extended an invitation to stop by her stall.
To her delight — and no small surprise — they did.
Tunku Azizah browsed the selection and chose some rolls while onlookers captured the warm exchange on video. The moment quickly found its way onto social media, where it has since been received with an outpouring of affection.
The stall owner later posted a video on Threads under the account @hsbrandss, expressing her heartfelt gratitude to the royal couple for their gracious visit.
In a follow-up post, she admitted to feeling a flutter of nerves standing before the Sultan and Tengku Ampuan — though she was quick to add, with quiet pride, that she managed to hold herself together.
“But Alhamdulillah, I could control myself,” she wrote. She also described Tunku Azizah as soft-spoken and warm in her manner.
The comments section filled quickly with messages of congratulations and good wishes. Many netizens said the royal visit was a sign of rezeki — blessing — for the seller, and wished her continued success throughout the Ramadan season.
One commenter, in a remark that drew laughs, said that had it been her in the same situation, she would have fainted, regained consciousness, and promptly fainted again.
The royal couple also drew admiration of their own, with observers praising their approachability and warmth.
Some eagle-eyed commenters made a point of complimenting Tunku Azizah’s choice of classic baju kurung for the outing.
