Jakim urged to take action againtst fake ‘Jakim’ Twitter account

KUALA LUMPUR: Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Seri Dr Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri (pix) has asked the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim) to take appropriate action against a fake Twitter account using the department’s name and logo.

Through his official Twitter account, Zulkifli also urged the public to lodge a report against the fake account.

“@MYJAKIM can take appropriate action over @MYJAKIM’s fake account. Let’s lodge a report on this fake account,“ he said.

Earlier, a Twitter user Rafidah Hanim Mokhtar through a tweet on her account informed Jakim that the fake account used the same name and logo except for the spelling which used the lowercase letter ‘l’ to replace the uppercase ‘L’ in the original account.

“There is a high probability of Quranic verses and Hadeeth (hadith) being distorted in the name of parody,“ she said. — Bernama
