Composer Jinx Chin launches AI pop trio with festive single Riang Hari Raya
A Malaysian AI-generated girl group called MyDiVa has released a Hari Raya single titled Riang Hari Raya, created by composer and producer Jinx Chin.
The project features three AI-created characters: Aisha, Aira and Ailee, designed to reflect Malaysia’s multicultural identity.
Chin wrote and produced the song, while the visuals and music video were generated using artificial intelligence.
The track is a Malay festive pop song lasting two minutes and 58 seconds, and centres on themes associated with Hari Raya celebrations, including family gatherings, forgiveness, balik kampung travel and festive joy.
According to Chin, the group is intended as an experiment in developing Malaysian pop music influenced by the global success of genres such as K-pop.
The characters are presented as young performers aged between 18 and 20. Aisha is positioned as the group’s leader, while Aira and Ailee are described as energetic and confident members of the trio.
The music video accompanying the song was also generated using AI visuals and released alongside the track.
Chin, who has previously produced music for commercials, films and other media projects, plans to release several additional songs under the MyDiVa project after Hari Raya, some of which will be in English and focus on Malaysian themes and culture.
