KKB polls: Five roads to be temporarily closed for nomination day

KUALA LUMPUR: Five roads around Kuala Kubu Baharu (KKB) will be temporarily closed tomorrow to ensure the smooth running of the nomination process for the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election.

Hulu Selangor district police chief Supt Ahmad Faizal Tahrim (pix) said the affected roads were Jalan Merdeka, Jalan Abdul Hamid, Jalan Dato Muda Jaafar, Jalan Mat Kilau and Jalan Kamarudin.

“The roads will be closed from 12.01 am (on April 27) until the nomination process is over,” he said in a statement today.

Ahmad Faizal said that following the temporary closures, users can use alternative routes such as Jalan Kubu, Jalan Dato Tabal, Jalan Rasathurai, Jalan Dato Balai, Jalan Syed Masyor and Jalan Pahang.

Nomination for the by-election is scheduled to take place at the Hulu Selangor Multipurpose Hall and District Sports Complex at 9 am.

The Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election is being held due to the demise of its incumbent, Lee Kee Hiong, 58, from the DAP, on March 21 due to cancer.
