PETALING JAYA: Westlite Accommodation Malaysia claimed that the premises of Westlite Tampoi was used as “low-risk Covid-19 centre”, in a statement issued by the company yesterday.
On Dec 25, it was announced by Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob that the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) to be enforced at the Westlite workers’ dormitory in Taman Perindustrian Tampoi Jaya, Johor Bahru beginning tomorrow (26 Dec) till Jan 8 next year.
In the media statement, the company said the premises of Westlite Tampoi had been repurposed by the government to be a low-risk Covid-19 centre since Dec 26.
“This means the location will be used to house, isolate and treat asymptomatic cases within the Tampoi Jaya area. The individuals housed in this low-risk Covid-19 centre include both registered residents of Westlite Tampoi as well as workers of employers who are not registered residents of Westlite Tampoi,” said the statement.
