Transport Ministry orders APAD to open investigation paper against MAHB following repeated Aerotrain disruptions at KLIA.
PUTRAJAYA: The Transport Ministry has ordered the Land Public Transport Agency to open an investigation paper against Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) following disruptions of Aerotrain service at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook said the move was taken after the Aerotrain service had been operating for several months and the ministry viewed seriously every incident of disruption that occurred.
He noted that at the initial stage of operation, the ministry understood MAHB needed time to adapt as this service was still in the initial adaptation phase.
Loke emphasised that after several months of operation, strict action would be taken for every disruption that occurred.
He said the operator’s licence issued to MAHB stipulated that the company was obliged to ensure a satisfactory level of Aerotrain service to users.
Under the Land Public Transport Act 2010, violations of the operator’s licence conditions could result in a compound of up to 250,000 ringgit for each offence. – Bernama
