Fitness coach Murad Zaidi secures a discharge not amounting to acquittal after the complainant withdrew the report, with the coach now planning a civil suit.

KUALA LUMPUR: Renowned fitness coach Syed Mohammad Murad Syed Naseem, known as Murad “Baddestcoach” Zaidi, has been granted a discharge not amounting to an acquittal (DNAA).

The Shah Alam Magistrates’ Court made the ruling after the 47-year-old complainant, M Vijendrakumaraan, informed the court he no longer wished to pursue the case.

Counsel for both parties confirmed the complainant had withdrawn his police report in August last year.

Murad Zaidi, 39, had been charged under Section 324 of the Penal Code for an alleged incident in Shah Alam.

The charge related to an incident that allegedly occurred on June 15 last year.

The offence carries a maximum penalty of 10 years’ imprisonment, a fine, caning, or any two of these punishments.

In a statement, Murad Zaidi said he would now initiate civil proceedings against the complainant.

He cited significant damage to his professional and business reputation following the case.
