Influencer Prince Syed’s in-laws plead not guilty to assault and mischief charges

Four family members of influencer Prince Syed plead not guilty to causing hurt and vehicle damage in Klang court case

KLANG: The parents and brothers-in-law of social media influencer Prince Syed have pleaded not guilty to assault and mischief charges.

Ishak Saif, 59, Aminah Haniffa, 55, and Muhammad Ikhwan Alif Ishak, 22, face charges of voluntarily causing hurt to Syed Muhammad Shah Hasif Syed Othman.

The alleged assault occurred at a residential area in Sungai Bertek, Klang on November 2.

Muhammad Syahmi Faiz Ishak, 31, was charged with mischief for breaking the window of an SUV belonging to the influencer’s wife.

The vehicle damage caused RM560 in losses according to the charge sheet.

All four defendants maintained their innocence before Magistrate Siti Zubaidah Mahat at the Klang Magistrate’s Court.

The assault charge falls under Section 323 of the Penal Code, carrying a maximum one-year prison term or RM2,000 fine.

The mischief charge under Section 427 provides for up to five years imprisonment or a fine.

The court set bail at RM2,000 for Muhammad Syahmi Faiz and RM1,500 each for the other three accused.

Muhammad Syahmi Faiz must report monthly to police and avoid contact with victims or witnesses.

The case has been scheduled for mention on January 26 next year.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Salman Alfarisi Nawawi represented the prosecution.

All defendants were represented by counsel K. Nathiya during the proceedings. – Bernama
