Malaysia to hold 5,000 Madani Agro Sales in 2026, offering essentials 10-30% below market prices.
PUTRAJAYA: A total of 5,000 Madani Agro Sales programmes will be held nationwide this year, offering essential goods at prices 10% to 30% lower than local market rates.
Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu said the move builds on last year’s success, when 3,738 programmes were organised nationwide, surpassing the original target of 3,500 and achieving 106.8% of the goal.
“This success has positioned the Madani Agro Sales Programme as one of the most effective initiatives in ensuring access to quality and affordable food supplies, while also strengthening the economic well-being of farmers, livestock breeders, and fishermen.
“The programme covered 126 locations in government complexes, 450 locations in high-density B40 residential areas, and 3,162 FAMA outlets.”
He added that the continuation of this programme is aimed at easing the cost of living for the people and complements efforts to strengthen national food security by ensuring that locally produced goods are distributed more efficiently, transparently, and directly to consumers.
