KUALA LUMPUR: The Imam of Al-Aqsa Mosque in Baitulmaqdis, Sheikh Ali Umar Yaqoub Abbasi, has expressed his appreciation to the government and people of Malaysia for their unwavering prayers and continued humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people, both in Gaza and in Al-Quds (Baitulmaqdis).

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the appreciation was personally conveyed to him by Sheikh Ali Umar during a courtesy call today.

He said that during the meeting, both sides shared views and agreed on the importance of safeguarding the sanctity of the Al-Aqsa Mosque as well as the future of Al-Quds.

“I also shared the initiatives undertaken by the MADANI Government to continue supporting efforts to safeguard and liberate the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

“May Allah SWT continue to bless our efforts as we stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Palestine in opposing the terrorism of the Zionist regime of Israel,” he said in a Facebook post today.
