Bangladeshi killed in fatal MEX crash identified as gaming content creator

Calls for justice grow after Bangladeshi YouTuber Advance Gaming died in a Kuala Lumpur crash. Police say the driver exceeded alcohol limits.

PETALING JAYA: A Bangladeshi national who was killed in a vehicle crash on the Maju Expressway (MEX) on Thursday (April 23) morning has been identified as gaming content creator Advance Gaming.

The victim, identified as Muzahid Millad, died after the vehicle he was travelling in with his wife was struck by a driver believed to have been under the influence of alcohol while they were en route from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).

The 22-year-old man’s wife, Nafisa Tabassum Adiba, 23, sustained injuries in the crash and is currently receiving treatment at Hospital Kuala Lumpur. The couple had been visiting the country for a one-week holiday in the capital.

A statement in Bengali shared on the Advance Gaming YouTube channel confirmed his death.

The content creator’s passing has triggered an outpouring of grief among his compatriots, who have called for justice using the hashtags #JusticeForMuzahid, #JusticeForAdvanceGaming and #BangladeshDemandsJustice, which are currently trending.

It was reported yesterday that police had arrested a military officer suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol following the fatal crash earlier that morning.

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa stated that a breath test conducted on the driver indicated alcohol levels above the legal limit.

The case is being investigated under Section 44(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for driving under the influence and causing death, which carries a prison sentence of up to 15 years and a fine of up to RM100,000.
