Former Federal Court chief registrar Datuk Zamri Bakar leads a group of 11 new judicial commissioners appointed to the High Court.
PUTRAJAYA: Former chief registrar of the Federal Court, Datuk Zamri Bakar, was among 11 individuals appointed as High Court Judicial Commissioners. The others are former High Court registrar Nixon Kennedy Kumbong and former Johor Court director Rihaida Rafie.
Also appointed were former lower courts registrar Dayang Ellyn Narisa Abang Ahmad and former Housing Tribunal president Asmadi Hussin. The list includes former lawyers Datin Zalita Zaidan, Mohamad Redzuan Idrus, Alvin Leong Yin Yuan, and Clive Jublee.
Former Sessions Court judge Azhar Mokhtar and former MACC legal consultant Datuk Sri Raja Segaran S. Krishnan were also appointed. They received their instruments of appointment from Chief Justice Datuk Seri Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh.
Eight of the new commissioners took their oath before the Chief Judge of Malaya Datuk Seri Hashim Hamzah. They will serve in Peninsular Malaysia.
Three commissioners took their oath before Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak Datuk Azizah Nawawi. Their appointments were effective immediately.
Court of Appeal president Datuk Seri Abu Bakar Jais was also present at the ceremony.
