A 15-year-old suspect has been remanded for four days following the stabbing of a Form Three girl at a school in Banting.
KUALA LANGAT: The suspect in the stabbing of a Form Three girl at a school in Banting has been remanded for four days.
Magistrate Maslinda Selamat at the Telok Datok Magistrate’s Court today granted a remand order keeping the 15-year-old suspect in custody until May 10.
Kuala Langat district police chief Supt Mohd Akmalrizal Radzi confirmed the matter via WhatsApp.
National Legal Aid Foundation (YBGK) lawyer S. Vijeswari Devi, representing the suspect, also confirmed that her client is a person with autism.
The suspect arrived at the court in a police vehicle at approximately 8 am and left at around 9 am.
In a statement yesterday, the Selangor State Education Department said police had arrested a suspect believed to be involved in the stabbing of a female student at a school in Banting.
It also said the injured student was being treated at Banting Hospital.
The victim’s father told reporters that his daughter had suffered lung injuries and 16 stab wounds.
