Kedah KPDN confirms investigation after viral video shows petrol station worker selling subsidised RON95 to a foreign-registered vehicle.
ALOR SETAR: The Kedah Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) is investigating a case of subsidised RON95 petrol being sold to a foreign-registered vehicle.
This follows a viral video showing a petrol station worker in Sungai Petani filling the fuel into the foreign vehicle’s tank.
Kedah KPDN director Muhammad Nizam Jamaludin confirmed the authenticity of the video after inspecting the station’s CCTV footage.
“The incident took place at 9.07 am today,” he said in a statement.
An enforcement team has opened an investigation paper and seized the sales receipt, CCTV recordings, and related documents.
Muhammad Nizam reminded that KPDN had issued a prohibition order on the sale of RON95 to foreign vehicles on 29 April 2025.
The order was directed to all petrol station operators throughout Kedah.
