Rapper Namewee’s police bail extended to Jan 11 pending toxicology results in the death of Taiwanese influencer Hsieh Yun Hsin, now a murder probe.
KUALA LUMPUR: The police bail for rapper Wee Meng Chee, known as Namewee, has been extended for another month until Jan 11 next year.
Kuala Lumpur police chief, Datuk Fadil Marsus, said the extension was necessary as the police are still awaiting the toxicology report and autopsy results concerning the death of Taiwanese influencer Hsieh Yun Hsin, 33. These reports are expected to take approximately three months
“We are still waiting for the toxicology report and the findings from the Chemistry Department. Therefore, Namewee’s bail has been extended while the investigation continues,” he told reporters at the launch of the Amanita 2025 Adopted Park at Seri Alam Phase 2, People Housing Project here today.

Namewee was remanded from Nov 5 to 13 before being released on police bail until Dec 10, pending the autopsy report on Hsieh.
Hsieh was found dead in a hotel bathtub on Jalan Conlay on Oct 22, and her body was sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for an autopsy.
The case, initially classified as a sudden death, is now being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
Meanwhile, on the Amanita Adopted Park, Fadil said the area serves not only as a recreational space but also as a platform for fostering closer ties between the police and the community. It is also a symbol of strategic cooperation to strengthen the community policing concept as part of a holistic crime prevention effort.
He added that an Amanita cabin has been set up in the area to serve as a PDRM pit stop aimed at building trust and understanding between the police and the public.
In a separate case, Fadil urged the public to come forward with any information regarding the discovery of a foetus in a garbage truck in Bukit Jalil, Cheras, on Thursday.
Earlier, Cheras police chief ACP Aidil Bolhassan, confirmed the discovery of a male foetus, around 25 weeks old, measuring about 35 cm in length. The foetus had abdominal injuries, a fractured skull, and a severed umbilical cord. The case is being investigated under Section 315 of the Penal Code. – Bernama
