Police arrest three, including two women with criminal records, after suspects try to ram officers in Hulu Langat.
KUALA LUMPUR: Police arrested three individuals, including two women with extensive prior criminal records, after they attempted to ram officers while trying to evade arrest at Jalan Batu 15 1/4, Dusun Tua, Hulu Langat, yesterday.
Kajang police chief ACP Naazron Abdul Yusof said officers opened fire during the incident as the suspects’ actions threatened their safety.
He said that during the 9.30 pm incident, a team from the Tampin District Police Headquarters Criminal Investigation Division attempted to arrest the suspects in connection with an ongoing case.
The suspects who were eventually detained were travelling in a vehicle with false registration plates.
“The first suspect has six criminal and three narcotics records, the second has four criminal and 11 narcotics records, while the third has six criminal and two narcotics records,” he said in a statement today.
The case is being investigated under Section 307 and Section 186 of the Penal Code for attempted murder and obstructing a public servant in the discharge of their duties.
In a separate case, police arrested a 15-year-old boy for injuring a security supervisor with a knife in front of a mini-market at Razak City Residences, Cheras, last Friday.
Cheras police chief ACP Mohd Rosdi Daud said the incident, which occurred at 9 am, is believed to have started when the 49-year-old victim reprimanded the teenager for littering alcohol cans in the area.
He said the suspect became aggressive and slashed the victim, causing a wound to the left side of the abdomen.
“A police team from the Salak Selatan Police Station arrested the suspect at the scene at 10.45 am on the same day and seized a knife,” he said, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons.
